TRX Suspension Sports Medicine Training
Ideal in a rehabilitation setting, it allows you to perform hundreds of exercises in a suspended position, using your own body weight for resistance.
As part of our on-going commitment to offering you the most advanced rehabilitation treatments, Fort Lee Physical Therapy is proud to introduce our TRX Suspension Sports Medicine Training program. This program uses the TRX Suspension Trainer, which is a tool that utilizes suspension training exercises to develop strength, stability and flexibility. Originally developed for performance training, this tool is also ideal in a rehabilitation setting since it allows you to perform hundreds of exercises in a suspended position, using your own body weight for resistance.
Some therapeutic benefits of TRX Suspension Training are:
- Shoulder stability
- Spinal stability
- Core Strength
- Improved balance and coordination
- Increases muscular endurance
- Benefits people of all fitness levels (pro athletes to seniors)
- General conditioning
These exercises are done by placing your hands or feet in the Suspension Trainer, which is connected by a single anchor point while the opposite end of your body is in contact with the ground. This training method increases core muscle activity, and also generates neuromuscular responses to changes in body position through the use of gravity and body movement. Since the exercises can be performed in multiple planes and angles, you can effectively build strength and flexibility, improving your body’s function during physical activities.
All our therapists are certified in the TRX Suspension Training System, and can help you incorporate these exercises into your treatment plan. Whether you are seeking rehabilitation services to treat injury or manage pain, enhance athletic performance, or increase muscle tone and flexibility, we can help you achieve your goals!
